Coles-Christensen Home, Santa Fe
My sister, Deanne Coles-Christensen, is a consummate decorator. Her house — built by architect Craig Hoopes — is immaculate and organized, despite being constantly ransacked by three children under ten. Every space is tastefully arranged with unusual finds. A centerpiece is this Dunbar sofa that she scored at a consignment shop for far less than it’s worth.
The other part of the living/dining room houses a one-of-a-kind rocker passed down from our Swedish grandmother, and a Danish dining table and chairs. More photos here.
Deanne’s philosophy as an interior designer is to use her clients’ existing objects and the already existing architecture of the place — those items with personal history and meaning — rather than purchase a bunch of new stuff. If you could use some of this beauty in your life, hire her. She’s now available for consultations and no job is too big or small.
