Conventional flower delivery services rarely have the simple, modern arrangements that I’d want my loved ones to receive. A bundle of carnations and baby’s breath isn’t so much a gift as it is a declaration of bad taste. Fortunately, I’ve discovered that Red Envelope has a good selection of fresh flowers and plants in refined containers. For the price of a cut flower bouquet ($30–60), you can get a lotus bamboo in stoneware, an herb greenhouse growing kit, and one of several types of bonsai trees in modern ceramic pots with clean lines.
