0518r, recently submitted to our Mid-Century, Modern Group by magnus*. Not certain of the model name, but the tag reads “EA416 L217”. Made in the mid ’80s.
And another colorful bookcase background, this time for an Eames Lounge, shot by gcherbavaz.
This Eames Soft Pad Chair is indeed the EA 416. Probably a swivel (but no tilt), on a Universal Base (Contract Bases were used on the earlier versions; they were 4-star, ending in rounded feet – like the Eames Lounge Chair.) Universal bases are also 4-star, but more sinuous, curving down to the floor.
